QUETTA -- A law college principal was among at least four people killed throughout Balochistan recently, while security forces rescued a kidnapped intelligence official in Lahore and killed one kidnapper.
Gunmen June 8 in Quetta fatally shot Barrister Amanullah Achakzai, the principal of the University of Balochistan's law college, police said, according to Dawn.
Gunmen on a motorcycle June 7 in Naseerabad District killed three labourers, Dawn reported.
Lahore police June 7 rescued a kidnapped intelligence officer in a shoot-out that killed one of his abductors, SAMAA reported. Akbar Zaman was kidnapped two years ago, police said.
Karachi police June 8 detained two al-Qaeda suspects in a raid, officials said.
Meanwhile, Lahore police are holding a woman in connection with charges of burning her daughter alive June 7, SAMAA reported. Hina married without her family's permission, police said.
