Threatened Egyptian plane makes emergency landing in Uzbekistan

URGENCH, Uzbekistan -- An EgyptAir plane June 8 made an emergency landing in Urgench, Uzbekistan, after receiving a bomb threat, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported June 8, quoting Egyptian officials.

The Airbus, with 135 passengers and crew, was flying from Cairo to East Asia. Someone made an anonymous call claiming to have planted a bomb on it.

Uzbek authorities found no bomb. The plane completed its flight to East Asia.
