Bomb explodes outside Hoti's house; 5 schoolgirls accidentally shot

PESHAWAR -- A bomb June 16 in Mardan exploded outside the house of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, media reported.

The 500-gramme bomb injured a passerby, Safiullah Gandapur, Mardan superintendent of police operations, said, according to Dawn.

On the same day in Swat, a security guard accidentally shot and wounded five pupils at the Madin Girls' School, Dunya TV reported. The guard's gun accidentally discharged when he picked it up after dropping it.

Police arrested the guard for investigation.
