Son of SHC chief justice kidnapped, Ahmadi slain in Karachi

KARACHI -- Unknown culprits June 20 kidnapped a son of the Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice and killed a member of the Ahmadi minority in Karachi, media reported.

Owais Ali Shah, son of Sajjad Ali Shah, was abducted in the Clifton area of Karachi June 20, Dawn reported June 20, quoting Muneer Ahmad Sheikh, deputy inspector general of police for South Karachi.

Militants might intend to use Owais as a bargaining chip to free imprisoned militants, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported.

Gunmen June 20 in Karachi fatally shot a homeopathic doctor and member of the Ahmadi minority, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar said, according to Dawn.
