3 Pakistani militants, 2 police officers killed

KARACHI -- Recent violence in Karachi and in Kalat District, Balochistan Province, left at least three militants and two police officers dead, media reported.

Police late June 27 in Karachi killed two members of a banned outfit, Dunya TV reported.

Police recently detained three suspected criminals in the Zaman Town area of Karachi, Dunya TV added. They are accused of homicide and robbery

On June 27 in the Super Highway area, Karachi police detained four suspected contract killers, SAMAA reported, quoting Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar.

They are accused of involvement in the assassinations of political rivals and police officers, he said.

Meanwhile in Kalat District, Balochistan Province, a shoot-out June 26 left two police officers and a proclaimed offender (wanted fugitive) dead, Kalat District Police Officer Lal Jan Baloch said, according to Dawn.
