Tajik authorities find hemp plantations in Sughd Province

DUSHANBE -- Tajik Drug Control Agency (AKN) personnel conducting the annual Operation Koknor (Poppy) found a large patch of wild-growing hemp in Sughd Province June 30, the AKN said in a July 2 statement.

AKN personnel incincerated 18,600 wild-growing hemp bushes that they found on a private firm's grounds in B. Ghafurov district. They had a conversation with the company's employees about the need to fight drugs.
