KULYAB, Tajikistan -- The Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) July 25 began the nationwide "Parents against Terrorism" training series with an event in Kulyab, the OSCE said in a statement.

The OSCE aims to teach attendees about Violent Extremism and Radicalisation That Lead to Terrorism (VERLT), the OSCE said. Participants came from various walks of life.

The trainers included civil society activists and employees of the Labour Ministry and Committee on Religious Affairs. They taught the participants about mothers' role as "positive agents of change" and about early symptoms of VERLT.

Similar sessions are scheduled soon for Qurghonteppa and Shaartuz.
