Ukraine bars suspected Tajik ISIL member from entering country

Staff Report

KYIV, Ukraine -- Ukrainian authorities August 6 barred a suspected Tajik member of the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) from entering Ukraine, Avesta.tj reported, quoting the Ukrainian border guard's press office.

The Tajik had arrived on an Istanbul-to-Lviv flight, but Ukrainian authorities determined that he was wanted in Tajikistan as a suspected ISIL militant. The Ukrainians sent him back to Istanbul, though, instead of arresting him.
