BISHKEK -- A police station opened in Oktyabr village, Aladumun District, Chui Province, August 12, the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry (MVD) said in a statement recently.
Dignitaries from the MVD, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Alamudun District government helped open the station. The UNODC contributed more than 6m KGS (US $89,508) to the station's construction cost.
The station will serve a population of 25,000, the UNODC said.
