Tashkent gets new prosecutor after almost 6 months

TASHKENT -- The Uzbekistani general prosecutor's office recently appointed a new prosecutor for Tashkent, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported August 16, quoting sources within the general prosecutor's office.

Batyr Kudratkhajayev, the new prosecutor, had been prosecutor for Surkhandarya (Surxandaryo) Province since 2014. Miraglam Mirzayev had been acting prosecutor of Tashkent since March 11, when the then-incumbent, Mirzokhid Abidov, became deputy mayor of the capital.
