ASTANA -- Kazakhstanis from government and other walks of life September 22 participated in an Astana roundtable on preventing youth from engaging in extremism and radicalism, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) said in a statement.
The OSCE, lower chamber of parliament and Kazakhstani National Security Committee (KNB) co-organised the event, which drew about 120 members of parliament, as well as officials from the KNB, Interior Ministry (MVD), and other agencies, and religious, political and civic leaders.
Topics included proposed amendments to the country's terrorism laws.
