Kazakhs consider death penalty for organising or instigating terrorism

Staff Report

ASTANA -- Kazakhstani Senator Serik Akylbai recently suggested instituting the death penalty for organising or instigating terrorism, Tengri News reported November 7. Aklykbai chairs the Senate Committee on Constitutional Legislation.

Having the death penalty for "organisers" -- the real cause of an atrocity -- would be fairer than singling out "simple, brainwashed perpetrators" for punishment, he said.
