DUSHANBE -- Tajikistan's highest-ranking defector to the "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) recently appeared in a Twitter photo with his son, AsiaPlus.tj reported November 28.
Then-Col. Gulmurod Khalimov was commander of the country's OMON riot police when he disappeared in April 2015 and resurfaced in the Middle East. He is said to be in Iraq. His wife fled to Syria early in 2016 with four of their children.
