Tajik sentenced to 17 years for recruiting for ISIL

DUSHANBE -- A Dushanbe court recently sentenced an "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" (ISIL) recruiter to 17 years in prison, Avesta.tj reported December 5, quoting the Tajik General Prosecutor's Office.

The defendant, O. Kh. Davlatov of Vakhdat, paid for a number of Tajiks to go to Syria after recruiting them, which included buying their plane tickets to Turkey, authorities found.

The death penalty should be reinstated in Tajikistan for these kinds of people. Why should taxpayers feed them?
