ASHGABAT -- Members of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan discussed the 2016 achievements of military, law enforcement and other security agencies, Char Tarapdan radio reported Monday (January 9).
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov heard the agency chiefs' reports and gave them new missions for 2017.
The foremost task is to ensure security during the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which will take place this September in Ashgabat.
Government reports did not disclose last year's achievements in fighting terrorism, organised crime and drug trafficking.
