ASHGABAT -- The Turkmen Defence Ministry has formed military units, state TV reported Tuesday (January 10), broadcasting the ceremony at which new commanders received the battle flags for their units.
Media did not report the number of new units formed or which service branch acquired them.
"The new military units were created to improve the armed forces of Turkmenistan," Vatan TV reported.
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov signed a decree authorising the new battle flags Monday (January 9).
