BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz authorities on January 19 detained a suspected extremist in Kara-Suu, Osh Province, the State National Security Committee (GKNB) said in a Tuesday (January 24) statement.
A. Sh., born in 1983, is suspected of conducting underground activity for Hizb ut-Tahrir, the GKNB said. Its agents searched his home and found a large quantity of electronic media with extremist content, the GKNB said. He is in custody while the GKNB continues its investigation.
