ASTANA -- Talks on the Syrian peace process are scheduled to take place in Astana on February 6, zakon.kz reported Thursday (February 2), quoting Staffan de Mistura, the UN secretary-general's special envoy for Syria. The UN is expected to participate.
The talks originally had been scheduled for February 20. Topics will include a mechanism for instituting a cease-fire.
Astana hosted an earlier round of Syrian peace talks on January 23-24.
