DUSHANBE -- Avalanches have exacted a deadly toll in Central Asia in recent days, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported Monday (February 20).
Three workers for the Tajik road-repair company Innovative Road Solutions died in an avalanche Sunday (February 19), company spokesman Daler Abdulloyev told RFE/RL. Two other Tajiks are missing.
Two avalanches killed two children and a woman in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday (February 19), the country's Emergency Situations Ministry said.
Another avalanche killed seven Kazakhstani troops in Zhambyl Province last Friday (February 17).
