Kazakhstani security council identifies likely risks to country

Staff Report

ASTANA -- Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev presided over a session of his country's National Security Council, e-islam.kz reported Tuesday (February 21).

He emphasised the primacy of the need to fight extremist and terrorist acts, the threat of which, he said, remains ever-present.

An official analysis of "internal, regional and global processes has enabled us to identify the likely risks and challenges to national security in the coming days", he said.
