ASTANA -- In 2016, Kazakh government officials held about 20,000 informational meetings about the extremist threat in which 1.6 million people attended, ratel.kz reported Saturday (February 18), quoting the Ministry for Religion and Civil Society.
The ministry operates an outreach arm that has 300 groups holding such meetings, according to a ministry statement.
