ALMATY -- Kazakhstani Supreme Mufti Erzhan Kazy Malgazhyuly and more than 200 clerics participated in a seminar in Almaty on clergy's role in society, muftyat.kz reported Wednesday (March 8).
Topics at the seminar included ways to raise clerics' qualifications and the contribution that clerics can make to effect positive changes in society.
Two Almaty imams gave reports on the work done by and work that still lies ahead for their mosques.
The mufti called Almaty a city of "great potential" for religious work and urged the clerics to harness that potential.
