Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan discuss security

TASHKENT -- Kazakhstani Security Council Secretary Vladimir Zhumakanov led a delegation in negotiations with Uzbekistani officials in Tashkent, Podrobno.uz reported Friday (March 10).

Participants included law enforcement and security agency chiefs from both countries. They discussed various topics like fighting modern threats to security and co-operating against extremism and terrorism.

The two sides worked out specific ideas for further co-operation in reacting rapidly to security threats and challenges.

Zhumakanov expressed gratitude to his Uzbekistani hosts for their readiness to discuss such issues openly and thoroughly.
