Kyrgyz, Tajik youth to participate in 'neighbourly' events

BATKEN PROVINCE, Kyrgyzstan -- Kyrgyz and Tajik youths living in their respective border zones will be participating in 20 events meant to solidify neighbourly feelings, Kabar.kg reported Friday (March 24), quoting the NGO Youth of Osh.

The events are scheduled to unfold over two months in various villages in Batken Province and are meant for youths aged 14 to 18. Organisers hope to inculcate inter-ethnic tolerance and friendship across the border.

Festivals, sporting events, seminars and other events are planned. Donors include the UN and Swiss government.
