Kyrgyzstan arrests militant accused of training with Jabhat al-Nusra

OSH, Kyrgyzstan -- Authorities in Osh arrested a 25-year-old Kyrgyz man who is accused of spending about two months in Syria as a member of the al-Qaeda linked Jabhat al-Nusra group, Turmush.kg reported Monday (April 3), quoting local police.

The suspect said he became radicalised while working abroad, according to police. He confessed to going to Syria in February 2015 and travelling to Turkey in April 2015, where Turkish police arrested him and deported him to Kyrgyzstan.

He encountered 10 other Kyrgyz during his training, he said.
