PAVLODAR -- A 21-year-old resident of Pavlodar was arrested for sharing extremist newsletters online, Tengri News reported Monday (April 17), citing the provincial police press service.
"The detainee promoted terrorism and extremism on social media, using internet messaging services and also storing and sharing extremist media," the report reads.
Officials from the Anti-Organised Crime Department, the special forces, and the National Security Committee worked together to detain the man.
Another Pavlodar resident was sentenced to six years in prison in December last year for a similar crime.
