BISHKEK -- A Bishkek court sentenced a Kyrgyz member of the "Islamic State" (IS) to 17 years in prison, 24.kg reported Thursday (May 11), quoting the court's resolution.
The court found the 25-year-old guilty of learning to build bombs in June 2016 and of joining an IS cell in Bishkek.
The defendant helped commit robberies in Bishkek and in Chui Province meant to raise money for extremists and for prison inmates, the court found.
