Tashkent to host international security conference in autumn

TASHKENT -- Tashkent will be hosting a UN-sponsored conference on Central Asian security this autumn, UzDaily reported Monday (May 14), quoting Uzbekistani Deputy Foreign Minister Anvar Nasyrov.

The conference will address regional security and sustainable development, he said.

One purpose of the conference is "the creation of a permanent forum to discuss urgent issues of regional co-operation", said Nasyrov, adding that the decisive factor enabling regional security and sustainable development will be peace and stability in Afghanistan.
