Staff Report

ASTANA -- Kazakhstani Information and Communications Minister Dauren Abayev announced the creation of a video to commemorate the first anniversary of the June 5, 2016, terrorist attack in Aktobe, Tengri News reported Monday (June 5).

The video, called "We Remember", relates loved ones' memories of all who were killed that day.

One year ago June 5, a 25-member terrorist group attacked various targets in the city, including two gun stores and a military base. Eight Kazakhstanis, including three troops, were killed.

Security forces killed 18 of the attackers; Kazakhstani courts later convicted 27 defendants either of direct participation or of complicity.
