DUSHANBE -- Tajik border guards seized a large quantity of drugs after a shoot-out with Afghan smugglers, Avesta.tj reported Saturday (June 10), quoting the Border Troops press office.
The battle took place at night June 8 in the Shuroabad area, with no casualties reported on either side. The troops seized a sack containing 15kg of cannabis.
In May, the Border Troops prevented 19 attempts to enter Tajikistan illegally and seized 128.7kg of drugs.
