BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev and Kyrgyz Security Council Secretary Temir Jumakadyrov Monday (June 19) conferred on the country's security, Atambayev's press office said in a statement Monday.
Atambayev recently signed a law granting the Security Council expanded powers to protect Kyrgyz sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In light of those new powers, Atambayev instructed Jumakadyrov to make sure that the country's Security Council functions smoothly and that it competently carries out measures to protect national security.
