ASTANA -- A Kazakhstani combination hotline and website to provide immediate advice on religious matters is serving citizens in need of it, according to a Wednesday (July 27) statement by the Religious Affairs and Civil Society Ministry.

The site, "Hotline 114" (www.114.kz), is receiving support from the ministry and the country's Association of Centres for the Study of Religions.

Those seeking advice can either phone 114 or chat online with the site's employees, who are able to give psychological support to those affected by destructive religious activity. Advice is available in Kazakh and Russian Monday through Friday, 10am to 7pm.

From April 1 through June 30, site employees reviewed more than 144 requests for advice. Karaganda, Almaty, South Kazakhstan and Aktobe provinces provided the most questions.
