ASTANA -- A Kazakhstani convict who was spreading extremist propaganda while behind bars was sentenced to six years, eight months in maximum security, Sputnik reported last week, quoting the Akmola Province police department.
The 30-year-old man, who was not identified, was proselytising other inmates in a minimum-security prison colony in Stepnoi village, according to provincial police. He urged the inmates "to commit violent acts and shared methods for making home-made bombs", said the police.
The convict's original offence and original sentence were not reported.
