Kazakhstani teachers attend anti-extremism seminar

TARAZ, Kazakhstan -- An employee of the Zhambyl Province Centre for Study of Religious Issues Thursday (September 14) in Taraz conducted an anti-extremism seminar for instructors from Taraz State Pedagogical University, according to the provincial Administration for Religious Affairs.

The presenter was identified only as Meirbek A.

The seminar's topic was "Preventing religious extremism and terrorism". The teachers heard about the finer points of extremist ideology, as well as sources of terror financing and the goals of extremist movements in Kazakhstan. The presenter showed some educational videos and told the teachers about anti-extremism hotlines conducted by the Centre.
