BISHKEK -- The Kyrgyz government has cancelled plans to have a Czech firm build parts of the Upper Naryn Cascade hydro-project and some other hydro-power stations, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sapar Isakov told a Cabinet session Monday (September 18), according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Liglass Trading Co. failed to verify its claims that it had completed other international construction projects, said Kyrgyz officials in July.

The Czech company lacked the money to buy out a departing Russian firm's share in Upper Naryn Cascade, Liglass General Director Michael Smelik said in Bishkek Monday.
