TERMEZ, Uzbekistan -- Delegations from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan discussed further co-operation in building railways, the Uzbekistani Foreign Ministry press office said in a statement Sunday (September 24).
Both countries sent delegations to Termez, Uzbekistan, Saturday (September 23).
Mohammad Yamma Shams, director general of the Afghanistan Railway Authority, headed the Afghan side.
Uzbekistan built the 75km-long Hairatan-to-Mazar-e-Sharif railway, Afghanistan's only long-distance common carrier line. It has operated since 2011.
