ASTANA -- Kazakhstan was the highest-ranking Central Asian country on the World Economic Forum (WEF)'s latest Global Competitiveness Index, which the WEF released last week.
The WEF compiled the 2017-2018 index based on 15 criteria. Kazakhstan ranked 57th out of 137 countries, followed by Tajikistan (79th) and Kyrgyzstan (102nd). Uzbekistan was not included.
