TASHKENT -- Uzbekistan plans to hold training sessions from May-December each year to help troops enter universities after they complete their service, Sputnik Uzbekistan reported Monday (October 16).

Uzbekistan's government commissioned the Academy of the Armed Forces and other specialised agencies to develop the training programme.

Under the programme, troops and border guards will receive a total of 190 hours of training in five subjects, with a maximum of 50 hours for any subject.

Instructors from universities and various secondary schools situated near military bases will teach the students.

Military units based farther than 50km from populated areas will have online learning options.
