Kazakhstani, Uzbekistani provincial governments ink memorandum of co-operation

KOKSHETAU, Kazakhstan -- Officials from Akmola Province, Kazakhstan, and Syrdarya Province, Uzbekistan, Friday (November 17) in Kokshetau signed a memorandum of co-operation covering economic, cultural and humanitarian matters, Kazinform reported Friday.

Officials signed the document during a meeting between Akmola Akim (Governor) Malik Murzalin and a delegation from Syrdarya Province.

The two countries' officials discussed development of the economy, trade, tourism, health, culture and sports in their provinces. All sectors of the economy offer opportunities for mutually beneficial co-operation, said Murzalin.

"The relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are developing very actively," said Ikrom Nazarov, the Uzbekistani ambassador to Kazakhstan.
