Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan ink co-operation agreements

TASHKENT -- Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov and his Uzbekistani counterpart, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, oversaw the signing of various agreements on co-operation Thursday (December 14) in Tashkent, said Jeenbekov's office, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL)'s Kyrgyz service.

Jeenbekov, who took office November 24, arrived in Tashkent for a two-day visit Wednesday (December 13).

The two presidents agreed to strengthen their strategic partnership.

Agreements signed by the presidents and by other officials cover emergency responses, customs, and a 2018-2021 programme on economic, scientific and humanitarian co-operation.
