TASHKENT -- Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan plan to increase air, road and rail links following a visit by Kyrgyz President Sooronbai Jeenbekov to Tashkent last week, UzDaily.com reported Saturday (December 16).

Uzbekistan Airways and Kyrgyzstan's Air Manas will each offer two round-trips per week between Tashkent and Bishkek, Minister of Transport and Roads of Kyrgyzstan Zhamshitbek Kalilov said.

In 2018, the two countries also are planning to resume flights between Tashkent and Osh and to set up a Tashkent-Bishkek-Balykchy rail link.

Other plans include bus service between Kyrgyz and Uzbek provinces and the resumption of work on cargo transport in 2018, added Kalilov.
