Tajik trade with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan sees record growth in 2017

DUSHANBE -- Tajikistan has increased its trade with neighbouring countries since the beginning of this year, showing record high growth in trade with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, AKIpress.org reported Wednesday (December 20).

Trade with Uzbekistan increased by 85% since the beginning of the year. An almost 30% increase occurred in trade with Kazakhstan and an 11% decrease between Tajikistan and Russia.

Foreign trade by Tajikistan reached $3.6 billion (31.7 billion TJS) in January-November this year, $20 million (176.3 million TJS) more than in the same period in 2016, according to official data.

Exports accounted for almost $1.1 billion (9.7 billion TJS) of Tajik trade in the first 11 months of 2017, an increase of $286.6 million (2.5 billion TJS) from the same period last year.
