TASHKENT -- Uzbekistani and Afghan officials have met in Tashkent to discuss the results of co-operation in 2017 and exchange views on future plans, according to the Uzbekistani Foreign Ministry press office, UzDaily reported Monday (January 1).
Uzbekistani Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received Afghan Ambassador to Uzbekistan Sayed Shahabuddin Timori and Afghan Ambassador to the United Kingdom Said T. Jawad December 31 (Sunday).
The two sides noted the importance of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's visit to Tashkent December 4-6, which they described as opening a new page in bilateral co-operation, said the ministry.
Presidents of Central Asian countries overall called 2017 a year of changes and said they foresee further innovations in 2018.
