Uzbekistan's Kamilov, US officials discuss bilateral relations, security issues

WASHINGTON, DC -- Uzbekistani Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov has held talks with top US officials in Washington, DC, the Uzbekistani Foreign Ministry reported Thursday (January 18), according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Kamilov discussed "further development of Uzbek-US dialogue in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other areas" with US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon Wednesday (January 17), said the ministry.

Kamilov also met with H. R. McMaster, US President Donald Trump's senior national security adviser, to discuss "bilateral relations, international and regional issues, including the situation in Afghanistan and joint efforts against security threats," the ministry reported.
