Kyrgyz authorities arrest suspected ex-militant accused of plotting terrorism
BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz authorities have arrested a man accused of plotting terrorist attacks in the region, according to the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) press office, 24.kg reported Friday (April 6).
The Kyrgyz man, born in 1992, allegedly received training in international terrorist camps and fought against Syrian government forces, said the GKNB, adding that terrorist ringleaders ordered him to commit attacks in Central Asia.
He is in a GKNB jail awaiting trial.
Kyrgyz authorities announced a similar arrest earlier this week.
