ARAL VILLAGE, Kyrgyzstan -- A consortium of Central Asian organisations is set to host a business forum May 12-13 in Aral village, Kyrgyzstan, on the export of produce to the European Union (EU), according to a Tuesday (May 8) statement by the EU delegation to Kyrgyzstan.

The forum is titled "Advantages of the Ferghana Valley for the Export of Fruit and Vegetable Products", according to the EU.

Participants from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will showcase their products at the conference. They will have the opportunity to network with international buyers, retailers and distributors; discuss shipping and logistics; and sign contracts and memoranda on co-operation.

The Austrian NGO Hilfswerk International is in charge of the consortium organising the event, which is part of an EU- and United Nations Development Programme-backed programme to support export-oriented food processing in Central Asia.
