BISHKEK -- The US Agency for International Development (USAID) is set to hold an Agriculture Trade and Investment Forum in Bishkek Tuesday and Wednesday (June 5-6), said the US Embassy in Bishkek.

The forum will bring together 200 agricultural producers, entrepreneurs, government officials and investors in the Kyrgyz capital, according to an embassy statement Monday (June 4).

The event will help participants build "market linkages, explore investment opportunities and learn new ways to finance agricultural production", the statement said.

Top Kyrgyz officials including Prime Minister Muhammedkaly Abylgaziyev, Minister of Economy Oleg Pankratov and Minister of Agriculture Nurbek Murashev are expected to attend.

"The forum will feature an exhibition of agricultural products, roundtable discussions, business-to-business meetings, a photo gallery and short videos featuring major accomplishments of the USAID Agro Horizon project," according to the embassy, referring to a project to increase the competitiveness of Kyrgyzstan's agriculture sector.
