DUSHANBE -- Tajikistan is negotiating with UN member nations and international organisations over joining the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member for 2028-2029, Asia-Plus reported Monday (June 18), citing a Tajik government source.
Kyrgyzstan has announced its candidacy for a non-permanent Security Council seat for the same term.
The UN General Assembly each year elects five non-permanent members of the Security Council for two-year terms.
