BISHKEK -- Kyrgyzstan has banned the import of poultry from three Russian regions, Kalisbek Jumakanov, chief of the Kyrgyz State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Security Inspectorate, told parliament Wednesday (June 27), according to AKIpress.org.
The ban started on Tuesday (June 26), he said, citing a bird flu outbreak in those regions.
Kazakhstan imposed its own ban on Russian poultry and poultry products (such as feathers) also on June 26, citing the same bird flu outbreak.
