Uzbekistan to host roundtable about recent UN resolution on Central Asia

TASHKENT -- Tashkent is set to host a roundtable Thursday (July 12) on a recent UN resolution on Central Asian development, the Uzbekistan National News Agency reported Monday (July 9).

The UN General Assembly on June 22 adopted a resolution titled "Strengthening regional and international cooperation to ensure peace, stability and sustainable development in the Central Asian region".

Uzbek lawmakers, foreign diplomats and representatives of Uzbek ministries and other organisations will discuss the significance of the resolution at the roundtable.

Analysts and government officials will also cover methods of strengthening such regional and international co-operation.

The event is being organised by Uzbekistan's Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies with the assistance of the Academy of Public Administration.
